These terms cover your use of Stash — the mobile app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Stash.
We've kept this readable on purpose. Where something matters, it's in a box.
You need to be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you're in a country where that's the minimum age for consenting to online services. One account per person. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to your Google or Apple sign-in secure.
Stash is a personal bookmarking app. You save links, images and screenshots into collections, add notes, and come back to them later. It's free. There are no ads and no subscription.
Everything you save — links, images, collections, notes — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of any of it.
You give us permission to store, process and display that content solely so the app can show it back to you: hosting your images, generating previews, syncing between your devices. That's the entire scope. We don't use your content to train models, we don't show it to other users, and we don't license it to anyone.
This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
When you save a link, our server fetches that page's public title, description and thumbnail so your bookmark has a preview. That material belongs to whoever published it, and saving it in Stash doesn't give you any rights to it beyond what you already had. Opening a saved link takes you to that website, which has its own terms.
Stash is for personal use. Don't use it to build a library of material you don't have the right to keep, and don't rely on it as a permanent archive of someone else's content — a link can break or a page can be taken down at any time, and there's nothing we can do about that.
Stash is a private locker — content you save isn't published or visible to anyone else. If you nonetheless believe something stored on our service infringes your copyright, email hellostashapp@gmail.com with the material in question, where it sits, proof you own it, and your contact details. We'll look into it and remove anything infringing.
Stash is provided as-is and free of charge. We'll do our best to keep it running, but we don't promise any particular uptime, and we may change, pause or discontinue features.
If we ever shut the service down, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your data first — Settings → Export bookmarks gives you everything as a file, at any time.
You can delete your account whenever you like, from Settings → Delete account. It removes your account and every save, note and image in it, immediately and permanently. There are also instructions on the delete-account page if you can't get into the app.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, or where we're required to by law. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why.
Stash is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any saved content or preview will remain available.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stash and the people behind it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service. Because Stash is free, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for it — which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under the law that applies to you, including your statutory consumer rights.
If we change these terms materially, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and where the change is significant we'll tell you in the app. Continuing to use Stash after a change means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and any dispute will be handled by the courts there — except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which it may.
